About EVC
EVC began with a simple idea: put video cameras in the hands of teenagers and teach them to go out into the city and craft stories about the world as they see it – with all its problems and possibilities. While the technology has changed over the past three decades, we've stayed true to our core values and mission through our after-school and summer Youth Documentary Workshops; New Media Arts Program; Professional Development Programs; and Community Engagement and Dissemination Initiatives.
This program was a new challenge for me. I never done video editing or professional photograph. In the 5 week program,we learned college readiness through skills such as public speaking and helped us focus on our options for college in the morning; In the afternoon, we about video editing and how to make websites. My favorite thing that we learned was how to take professional photographs. I was surprisingly very good at taking professional photographs with lighting and white balance looking perfect.
